Hot Stuff
by Lex 'Spork' Tenou

Haruka sat alone at the table, waiting. Michiru was supposed to be here twenty minutes ago! Where was she? Haruka had cut short a prectice run at the track for this "important event" Michiru had planned.

"And now ladies and gentlemen, a young lady wants to send this classic out to the young man in the back booth... Haruka, this song's for you!"

Haruka shot up in her seat as her idle gaze swept over the svelte figure that graced the karaoke stage. She wouldn't....she couldn't! She was. Michiru was on stage, in a tiny little off the shoulder dress, her mouth covered in a bright red lipstick that begged to be kissed off, her long legs bare to the eye...and touch.

Michiru avoided looking directly at Haruka, getting into the disco beat of the song she had chosen. Her body began to sway and move to the music, a smile spreading across her face.

Sittin' here, eatin' my heart out waitin'
waitin' for some lover to call
dialed about a thousand numbers lately
almost rang the phone off the wall

Michiru pantomimed holding a phone to her head and talking. A petulant pout graced her mouth as her shoulders and hips moved to the pulsing bass beat and driving guitar.

Lookin' for some hot stuff baby this evenin'
I need some hot stuff baby tonight
I want some hot stuff baby this evenin'
gotta have some hot stuff
gotta have some lovin' tonight
I need hot stuff
I want some hot stuff
I need hot stuff

Haruka's eyes nearly popped out of her head. Michiru was doing hip thrusts on the words "hot stuff" to further emphasize them!

Lookin' for a lover who needs another
don't want another night on my own
wanna share my love with a warm blooded lover
wanna bring a wild man back home

Michiru looked pointedly at Haruka. Haruka blushed, realizing that she really should be spending more time at home and less time at the racetrack. There was going to be some major making up to do...

Gotta have some hot love baby this evenin'
I need some hot stuff baby tonight
I want some hot stuff baby this evenin'
gotta have some lovin'
got to have a love tonight
I need hot stuff
hot love
lookin' for hot love

Hot, hot, hot, hot stuff
hot, hot, hot
hot, hot, hot, hot stuff
hot, hot, hot

During the chorus and bridge, Michiru stepped down from the stage, moving her entiore body to the groove of Donna Summer. She was completely into the song, and Haruka's eyes seemed to be stuck in a permenantly wide open position. To say that Michiru had caught her attention was a vast understatement.

How's that hot stuff baby this evenin'
I need some hot stuff baby tonight
gimme little hot stuff baby this evenin'
hot stuff baby got to I need your love tonight
I need hot stuff
lookin' for hot stuff
gotta have some hot stuff

Michiru had walked over to stand directly in front of Haruka, singing the verse directly to her. Haruka was blushing mightily, a huge grin across her features.

Sittin' here eatin' my heart out no reason
won't spend another night on my own
I dialed about hundred numbers baby
I'm bound to find somebody home

"Will you be home?" Michiru asked Haruka as she traced her jawline with a single finger and turned, bouncing and dancing her way back to the stage, finishing the song.

Gotta have some hot stuff baby this evenin'
I need some hot stuff baby tonight
lookin' for some hot stuff baby this evenin'
I need your love baby
don't need your love tonight

Hot stuff
baby this evening
I need hot stuff baby tonight
yes, yes, I want some hot stuff baby this evenin'
I want some hot stuff baby tonight
yes, yes, yes now hot stuff baby
I need your hot stuff baby tonight
I want some hot stuff baby this evenin'
hot stuff baby
got to I need your love tonight

As the song drew to a close, a rousing and raucous cheer went up. It had been a long tme since the occupants of the bar had seen such an inspired performance. The blush that was gracing the face of the young man the young lady had sung to was gratifying to all those present.

Haruka rushed over to Michiru, her coat in her hands.

"Michiru, I am so sorry, honey! I didn't mean to-"

Michiru reached up and placed a single finger over Haruka's mouth.

"Don't you think there's someplace else that requires our prescence?"

Haruka looked puzzled for a second before she caught Michiru's meaning. She draped her coat over Michiru's shoulders and placed her arm around Michiru's waist.

"Oh, definitely.....It's positively begging for our prescence..."

Michiru smiled. She should really try karaoke more often...
