I was writing a nice epic fic about Haruka and Michiru and one of their past lives when THIS came out of me...I have no idea where this came from.

The following is generalization. For those of you who don't know, "stonebutch" can be used to indicate a woman who doesn't identify herself as such...a stonebutch will often prefer to be called "Sir" instead of "Madam" "hym" instead of "her" that kind of thing...a stonebutch generally will have questioned hys gender at some point. I personally think Haruka is a butch, maybe not stone, but definitely a butch. I think that Taiki has a bit of a problem with being gay.

And so you dubbers and baka know, the original and natural form of the Starlights IS female. So, since they are obviously as queer as the rest of the cast of BSSM, I think Taiki has the most trouble accepting this. Or not. I dunno, this fic just kinda came out of me. It's 5:42 am and you want reasons for how my brain works?

Members of the gay community call each other "sister" and "brother" because, dammit, "We are family!"

Little Sister

Taiki looked out over the bay, the wind caressing his face gently. A sigh went through him.

I don't want this body anymore...

His eyes were pained as they looked over the still water.

"Taiki."

He turned.

Oh shit. I don't need this right now.

Haruka stood before him, her hands shoved deep into her pockets. She looked distinctly uncomfortable and wouldn't look at him.

"Hello, Haruka-san."

Haruka looked up at him, meeting his eyes momentarily.

"Taiki-kun...hello."

Haruka didn't say anything after that, walking over to stand next to him. She looked over the bay, in a mirror of the image he had just presented moments ago. Taiki watched her carefully, uncertain as to why she was here.

They fell into an awkward silence. At least it was awkward for Taiki, he couldn't tell about Haruka.

"I don't hold it against you."

Taiki started and cleared his throat.

"Umm...what?"

Haruka grinned at him slightly then turned back to the water.

"Being a Starlight and being forced to associate with Seiya-kun and Yaten-kun. I don't hold that against you."

Taiki stood there for a moment, stunned, before a laugh bubbled through his lips.

"Yeah, well, I don't hold your relationship with Michiru-san against you."

Haruka's expression grew serious and she looked at him with somber eyes.

"That's what I am here to talk to you about." Haruka gazed at him steadily, her expression serious, but closed. Taiki couldn't tell what she was thinking. "I know your natural form is female."

Taiki swallowed and turned his gaze to the softly lapping bay.

"So?"

Haruka shrugged but continued to look at him.

"I know you don't like your body." Taiki swiveled his head abruptly to glare at her. How the hell did she know?

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Haruka let out a short dry chuckle.

"Oh, I think you know exactly what I mean, Taiki-kun. You don't want to be a man." Haruka kept her watchful gaze on Taiki, noting how he started when she said that.

"You don't know anything, Haruka-san."

"I know more than you think." Haruka stopped his next comment with a wave of her hand. "Tell me, Taiki-kun, have you heard the term 'stonebutch' before?"

Taiki was puzzled.

"Yes. What does that have-"

Haruka shot a sharp glance at him.

"Hush."

Taiki saw the annoyance in her eyes and did as he was told.

Haruka sighed. This was harder than Michiru had said it would be.

"What would it mean to you if I told you I know what you are going through because I am stonebutch?

Haruka didn't move, her gaze remaining on the water before her as Taiki stared at her, unbelieving.

"You're kidding!"

Haruka looked at Taiki for a moment before stepping back and opening her shirt, exposing the white a-frame shirt underneath. She pulled up one side and showed him a scar on her lower stomach, still angry and red, healing.

A trace of anger seeped into her otherwise emotionless voice.

"Does this look like I'm kidding?"

Taiki looked at the scar, stunned. Haruka made a noise in her throat, frustrated, and pulled her shirt down, tucking it back into her pants and buttoning her shirt again.

"Group of punks with a couple knives and nothing better to do decided I needed to be taught how to be a "proper woman", since all I needed was "the right man" to show me the error of my ways."

Haruka turned away from Taiki and began to walk away.

"When you decide to be honest about what you-" Haruka cut herself off with a wry smile, "Make that who you want, I'll be waiting to talk to you."

Taiki stood there, his stunned gaze still trained on Haruka's form.

"Little sister." With one last smile and a short wave, Haruka quickly left.

Taiki returned to looking over the bay, his arms resting on the railing.

Maybe not now...maybe not in the immediate future...but maybe someday...he could admit that this subterfuge was causing him problems.

Maybe someday he could admit that he really was Haruka's little sister.

Taiki smiled. Yes...maybe someday. Someday soon.
